The Indian Removal Act of 1830 was called by the government to consult treaties that would force the Native Americans to relocate west. The Native Americans would be moving to Oklahoma and parts of Nebraska and Kansas and the area would be called "Indian Territory" The 5 tribes that will be traveling are the Cherokees, Chicksaws, Chocktaws, Creeks, and the Seminoles." In Andrew Jackson's mind, he thought it was "just and liberal" which he was wrong, it was cruel and unusual punishment. Andrew Jackson would allow the indians to keep their way of life but in affect, it caused hardships and the relationship between the Native Americans and the whites would never be the same. Jackson supported the idea of having the indians moving west of the Mississippi River and traveling west to their new homeland. Andrew Jackson believed that the government has the right to govern where the indians should live and the indians would have no say to tell them they don't want to leave.

When the white people were invading their homes, a lot of the indians had no other choice but to sign the treaties to have their new homeland in the west and with that they will be removed to Oklahoma,Kansas, and Nebraska called the Indian Territory. In 1831, the Chocktaw and other tribes were removed to their new homeland, but the Cherokees were the first to request to the U.S. Supreme Court to protect their homeland from being conquered by Georgia. In 1832 the Supreme Court stated that the federal government could make the laws to govern the Cherokees, which the ruling meant the Georgia laws didn't submit to the Cherokee Nation. Then a small group of the Cherokees gave up and signed the treaties but the rest of the group conflicted the treaty, but the affect was Andrew Jackson rejected to deal with the Cherokee people.

Andrew Jackson's role he played in the Jacksonian Democracy was he was trying to spread democracy throughout the country and then he was trying make the voting rights more popular, but then made a separate republican and democratic parties. (The donkey and the Elephant) The goal of this was to create greater economic oppurtunities for more Americans. It was difficult because it involved challenging the power of the wealthy through more political participation and the upper class who didn't agree with Jacksonian Democracy was a threat to the strength of the nation.
The Jacksonian Democracy represented a "Proactive blending of the best and worst qualities of the American Society. It was both an authentic democratic movement and a powerful social critique that was always cast to the benefit of the white men."
In 1838, General Winfield Scott and his troops assembled 16,000 Cherokees and force them into the camps. From 1838 to 1839 the Cherokees started on their long, horrific journey to the west and walked through the cold winter with rain and snow with thin, ripped clothing and lot of the people turned sick and weak. The Cherokees traveled by wagon, horse, by foot, and donkey.
Andrew Jacksons's decisions with sending the indians west wasn't constitutional in one reason only: Sending the Native American's west just because he had a right to take over the large portion of the Native American's land, so the white men could have all the land and have the indians moved away like there a herd of cattle. When gold got discovered, the white people moved onto Cherokee land which the affect was Georgia and other Southern states passed laws that gave the right for the white men to take over the indian land. The problem was when the Cherokee and the other tribes protested for the law that has been passed, Andrew Jackson took the side of the states and disagreed with the indian tribes, and that's when Andrew Jackson made a law for Congress to pass for the Native Americans to move west or give in to the state law.
In the Nullification Crisis, Andrew Jackson was forced to face South Carolina with the issue of the tariff. Farmers and business owners hoped that Andrew Jackson would use his power to modify the law because the economy was in a slump so Andrew Jackson's vice president John C. Calhoun knew how to fix the problem because he was a farmer and he doesn't want the problems these innocent people might have to face. John C. Calhoun stated the "state had a right to nullify or reject a federal law, which is considered unconstitutional". Southern States called the Tariff of Abominations because the tariff passed by Congress was a protective law, which was designed to protect industry in the U.S. It was called Tariff of Abominations by its southern states because of its affects it had on the Southern economy.
Andrew Jacksons' role in the Westward Expansion was agreeing to send the Native Americans west and not being very human-like to letting the indians say and sticking up for them when the white men didn't want them here and thought they were gonna steal the gold off the indians land. The sad thing is Andrew Jackson knew the trail was going to be really difficult to travel through and he knew the Native Americans didn't have a lot of good clothing for winter, because all they really had was ripped, thin lining clothing and some of them didn't even have shoes to wear. Andrew Jackson knew haw bad the winter season is and and it's risky to travel through, and the sad part is there's babies, children and elderly people that would be traveling on the trail and some of them probably wouldn't make it for a long period of time because the babies will get to cold and the elderly won't be in the best shape and health. The only people that benefitted off of this were the white men, because they were the ones who wanted the Native Americans to be moved away and Andrew Jackson didn't want to look bad so he followed what everybody else wanted. Now its' obvious that Andrew Jackson wasn't a good president because he liked to please people and he liked having the attention of being "in power".
Andrew Jackson rewarded his political supporters by after winning an election, give government jobs to his supporters, friends, and relatives as a reward for making his victory. The Spoil System was fair because everybody who helped Andrew win got a government job, which meant more money in the house and it would help families if they had money issues, and its a fair win for everybody.
